So how does a Natural Health guy become involved in Network Marketing? Glad you asked.
Even I forget that if it wasn’t for my health I may never have become involved in this wonderful world of network marketing. Back in 1988, I was 31, healthy, strong, a beautiful family, a fairly good job in the corporate world when suddenly, with no warning and no apparent reason whatsoever, I become very ill. The trips to the doctors began but they couldn’t figure out what was wrong with me. Over the next 3 years i would go through agonizing pain with severe symptoms, prescriptions after prescription, see the best doctors, have what seemed to be every test in the book, but nothing - no diagnosis!
All along a friend of mine was telling me see a “herbalist” but I thought he was crazy. I was resistant for the entire 3 years my buddy was telling me to go because it didn’t make any sense to me - why would I see a natural health person when I was seeing the best doctors around? Finally, after 3 years and out of pure desperation, I listened to his advise and went to see a “herbalist.” I needed to swallow my pride to do this because I thought I knew better.
Well I was completely shocked and surprised that for the first time in 3 years those horrible, unbearable symptoms starting to finally loosen their grip. I was confused as to how this natural stuff could be working after the best doctors had failed me. But who cared - I was starting to feel better again for the first time in 3 years!
This experience led me to take a big interest in natural health. I went on to become cerified as a Herb Specialist and as an Iridologist. Eventually I turned this into a full time practice, thrilled knowing that I was helping many people, who like myself several years ago, were not feeling right. I am truly passionate about helping others in this regard.
But while I was happy making a resonable living doing what I loved, I realized as I had all along that long-term I would need more money. To do this, I knew I couldn’t see any more clients because there are only so many hours in a day and I spend between 1 and 2 hours with each client, not just 10 minutes. So increasing the number of clients I saw each day was not an option. So since I was already involved with the “original herb company” who’s products I was passionate about, I decided to give a go to the M-L-M side of the business.
I started to promote the business opportunity of the company I was so passionate about and I quickly increased my check from my Primary Business. That’s it- I was officially addicted to network marketing.
I knew the importance of staying focused. When I got bombarded daily with recruiters trying to put me in their company I always remembered to focus, focus, focus. Oh, and guess where most of these people trying to recruit me on a daily basis ended up? That’s right - in a different “better” company than the one they were in before and trying to recruit me into. Am I ever glad I learned to stay focused and disciplined.
Over time I found other programs that either compliment what I’m already doing or are a better fit for some people. Everyone has different needs and ways. I am now involved with businesses that I believe to be the best around.
So there it is - that’s how my poor health was responsible for both me discovering the world of natural health and for me getting into network marketing. Isn’t it strange how things can happen sometimes!
